DERC Salotech has introduced the Flexa-Jet Chain Manipulator, a precision tool designed for abrasive waterjet cutting of pipes with a minimum diameter of 6” (ø168 mm).
The new manipulator, which complements DERC’s existing range of pipe bands, features a compact design and provides greater flexibility in diameter adjustments. The tool uses a chain tensioning system to securely clamp around the pipe, with a cutting nozzle mounted on a carriage that moves smoothly along the chain, driven by a powerful air motor and gearbox.
The cutting process utilizes high-pressure water and abrasive, delivered through a specially designed hopper and nozzle, ensuring precise and efficient cutting, even through tough materials.
