The European Commission has launched a new Water Resilience Strategy to strengthen water security across the EU, responding to increasing risks related to drought, pollution, and aging infrastructure. The strategy, presented on 4 June 2025, sets clear goals such as reducing water use by 10% by 2030, improving water infrastructure to prevent losses, and reinforcing controls on pollutants like PFAS. It also highlights the need for smarter monitoring systems and stronger coordination among Member States.
To support these efforts, the European Investment Bank has committed €15 billion for the 2025–2027 period, with the potential to attract an additional €25 billion in private investments. For the industrial cleaning and water jetting sectors, this initiative may open new opportunities in water-saving technologies, sustainable system maintenance, and advanced treatment processes. EWJI will continue to monitor developments and share relevant updates with the sector.
