SIR Inspection audits completed

All audits of the inspection bodies recognized by SIR have recently been completed. Overall, the results were positive: the inspected organizations met current requirements and support the implementation of stricter standards in the coming years.

During the audits, it was discovered that some companies had issued test certificates using the SIR logo without being officially recognized as inspection bodies. This could lead to the mistaken impression that these certificates were issued by SIR-recognized entities. SIR contacted the companies involved, and many have since obtained recognition or are in the process of doing so. It was confirmed that inspections carried out by these now-recognized companies were conducted in accordance with SIR guidelines, so no further action or reinspection is necessary.

We would like to remind everyone that only the companies listed on the SIR website are officially recognized inspection bodies. Other companies are strictly prohibited from using the SIR logo on any inspection or test forms. Violations may lead to removal from membership or, in the case of non-members, legal action. Over the coming years, SIR will place increased focus on ensuring that all inspection bodies meet the required quality standards. If an agency is found not to comply, appropriate action will be taken.

Companies interested in becoming recognized as inspection bodies can contact Shirley van Biene, our Coordinator for Working Groups and Advisory, for more information. The list of recognized bodies is available on our website, along with a certificate register where you can verify the validity of issued certificates.
