The world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management takes place at the Messe München center from May 30 to June , in Munich, Germany.
This year, in addition to its traditionally strong sector for residential waste, IFAT has also focused on recycling large mass flows such as construction and production waste for quite some time.
More than 3,000 exhibitors from more than 50 countries, some 135,000 expected visitors and 230,000 square meters of exhibition space: those are the key figures for IFAT 2016.
Ms. Silvia Fritscher, the Exhibition Director of IFAT, points out: “At the upcoming exhibition, our exhibitors will present the topics of car and building material recycling in elaborate demonstrations at IFAT’s outdoor exhibition site in Munich.”

The latest waste-to-heat processes and technologies for use in water, wastewater and sludge treatment will be on show at the next IFAT as well.
Exhibition Director Ms. Fritscher again: “For many years the heat-exchanger technologies and large-scale heat pumps needed for heat-from-wastewater applications have had a firm place in the product spectrum of IFAT and the leading companies exhibiting there. Munich is the place to get a first look at technological innovations and new concepts.”
In the frame of the trade fair 2016, it will be time for the GreenTec Awards in the IFAT gala night.
The date when all the winners will be revealed is May 29, at the ceremonial presentation of the awards that will mark the start of IFAT 2016.
