EWJI celebrated the Annual Convention 2020 surrounded by its members

  • The European Water Jetting Institute, EWJI, reunited nearly thirty professionals in its Annual Convention the 12th – 13th the February in Paris (France)

 

Paris in the Valentine’s days is a dream for a lot of people, but it was a dream come true for the attendees of the EWJI Annual Convention 2020. The association organized an event in which reunited its members and other professionals of national associations to bring together the water jetting industry and to be informed about the best-practices, case stories and encouraged the debate to work towards European standards.

The annual convention was held in the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche hotel. In this location, two rooms were arranged, one for conferences and another one for networking moments.

The event counted on the support of the sponsors of the convention. Six companies -SPIR STAR, WOMA, TST, AQUAJET, STONEAGE, PEINEMANN- decided to promote its brand in this professional framework in an exhibition space. Also, there were two collaborators: S3C and SMI2D.

Wednesday 12th February was a day of reencounters, of workshops and working groups about Health and safety -imparted by Mr. Per-Arne Andersson (TST)-, Asset integrity -provided by Mr. Roger Simonsson -AQUAJET; Regulation and accreditation -given by Mr. Stuart Harwood (S3C)-.

After a peaceful break with a coffe break, in which attendees could enter business relationships with other professionals and enjoyed of networking moments, it took place the EWJI General Assembly. A meeting in which the main milestones of the association were highlighted, as well as new projects and the situation of the industry. The day finished with an informal dinner at the hotel Paris Marriott Rive Gauche.

Thursday 13th February was a day full of technical moments about the industry and social activities. At half past nine in the morning, the first conference sessions began for several members of EWJI and national associations. Mr. Jean-Luc Robien (VEOLIA) gave a speech about Contractors: Issues and challenges and Mr. Francesco Menci of the Total company imparted a presentation about the Total’s choice to work with contractors using certified personnel.

The first conferences opened the way for the coffee break and networking. In this time, the attendees visited the exhibition spaces of the sponsor in which they have information about their companies and a commercial roll-up.

The second conference session had three presentations and a roundtable. Mr. Andreas Felske of the Basf company talked about the new regulatory initiatives in Germany. The blue gold: Experiences in water recycling was the name of the Mr. Helmut Burger (REPROTEX) speech. Later, Mr. Per-Arne Andersson (TST) gave a presentation about the safety verification tests on PPE. Finally, it took place the room table about the innovation and automation in equipment and systems.

Attendees were able to enjoy a special meal in the exhibition space. A moment to encourage social relationships among event’s attendees and promote the sponsor brands. The third session of the conference took place afterwards.

Mr. Mike Watson (TUBE TECH) gave a lecture on the new regulation. Mr. Stuart Harwook gave two speeches about the evolution of the Global Industrial Cleaning Coalition and on the Safe Working Environment that S3C is creating. Finally, Mr. Lejo Bekker (SIR) spoke about the latest developments in the SIR.

After another moment of networking, the annual convention closed in the hotel. However, it was not the end of the event. The association had prepared a special dinner in a cabaret. Most of the attendees stayed for this meal. It was a dinner with a show in the most Parisian style, in the fields of the elisions next to the Arch of Triumph.

This time of celebration was the closing of the event. All the attendees said goodbye to the EWJI Annual Convention with a wish: “See you at the next edition”.
