EWJI celebrates a successful Annual Convention 2023

The European Water Jetting Institute (EWJI) successfully hosted its Annual Convention 2023 on November 9th and 10th in Antwerp, Belgium. Attended by professionals from across Europe, the convention proved to be a resounding success, offering a platform for discussions on the latest trends in water jetting.

Coordinated in collaboration with national water jetting associations and organized in alliance with Stichting Industriële Reiniging (SIR), the two-day event aimed to explore the dynamics of water jetting, foster knowledge exchange, and discuss best practices.

Day 1: November 9th

The convention kicked off with the General Assembly, an exclusive session for EWJI members, setting the stage for subsequent discussions and initiatives. Workshops and open forums covered a spectrum of topics, including the applications of hydrodemolition techniques, automation in industrial cleaning, mutual recognition among national associations, and strategies for workforce development.

The day concluded with a networking dinner, providing participants with an opportunity to fortify professional relationships.

Day 2: November 10th

EWJI President, Mr. Hans Borgt, officially opened the second day, setting the tone for enriching discussions. The conference sessions delved into challenges faced by the chemical industry in water jetting -guided by the prestigious speaker Mr. Jean Godts, from European Chemical Industry Council, CEFIC-, water recycling, and the properties of used water. Notable presentations included insights on water and fuel consumption, the impact of EU taxonomy and ESG criteria, water recycling, safety requirements, and a round table on workforce challenges and safety.

The convention concluded with a cocktail and networking session, promoting collaboration and discussion among participants.
