- The European Committee for Standardization has approved of EWJI participation in the CEN/TC 197.
The European Water Jetting Institute (EWJI) starts 2021 with great news, as the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has approved its participation on the CEN/TC 197 ‘Pumps’ as Liaison Partner.
This Technical Committee works in the standardization in the field of safety and all other aspects of the pumps and pumping machinery. And it’s divided into five subcommittees: WG1 – Water pumps efficiency; WG2 – Circulation pumps; WG5 – High-pressure water jet machines – Safety requirements; WG6 – Vehicle cleaning appliances safety standard; and WG7 – Pumps and pump units for liquids.
The participation of EWJI in this Committee is another step forward, in order to be present in all European bodies and thus make the voice of the water jetting industry heard.
The European Committee for Standardization is an association that brings together the National Standardization Bodies of 34 European countries. And it’s one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.
