What happens in an accident with water jetting?

If a worker is hit by a waterjet, they should always go, immediately, to a hospital or medical centre, where the damage can be evaluated and treated correctly.

In some cases, the injury will be severe and the need for medical attention will be obvious, but in others it may appear small and insignificant.

Despite this, it is always essential to have the injury examined by medical staff immediately, as the waterjet may have damaged the skin or underlying tissue, and even have perforated the flesh or organs through a small hole.

It is highly recommended to carry a document that includes information for the medical staff on how to proceed when treating the injured party after a waterjet incident.

In this regard, in the section 8.4 of this guide, you will find a worksheet for accidents with water jetting intended to help medical staff to properly treat the injuries.
